About me

My training as an holistic practitioner informs my whole-being approach to counselling. I found many people came to see me feeling distressed, and confused, a response to traumatic relationships and events, and I needed to understand these feelings to truly stand beside them.
I trained in the three main counselling approaches: psychodynamic, behavioural, and humanistic, and I draw from these theories in a relational way. This will allow us to explore collaboratively how the here and now may be affected through your past relationships and experiences.
I have volunteered at Sue Lambert Trust, working with clients who have survived physical, mental, emotional and sexual abuse, and domestic violence and at Mind, supporting clients who have experienced relational trauma, grief, anxiety, loss and depression. I am also a Mind credentialed counsellor, a Domestic Abuse Change Champion (NCCSP) and an approved trained therapist with Barnardos LINK support services and therefore registered with Ofstead to work with adoption issues with adults aged 18 and over.

My Philosophy

As an integrative counsellor I understand that one theory or philosophy may not be the answer for everyone, and my training ensures I respond to your individual needs, supporting you to regain the courage and strength to live and feel whole again.
I believe counselling to be a holistic process, integrating all aspects or parts of your self and your environment: mind, body, mental, social and spiritual. I will work collaboratively with you to integrate these elements into a coherent whole, exploring patterns of behaviour and thinking together, to discover different, and new ways of being in relationship and facing life’s challenges.
I understand healing is supported through an empathic, relational approach to whatever is causing you pain, stress or anxiety. Counselling is helpful at every stage of life, a nurturing space of acceptance to promote and improve mental health.
